2008 USAID's Leland Initiative awarded IBEX a contract to provide e-learning solutions to 6 different universities in 5 African countries (Kenya, Mozambique, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria). Specifically, IBEX installed Sun Systems networks in the universities, provided training and support to staff, and provided the capability to develop e-learning applications based on an open-source application development system designed by The University of Western Cape in South Africa. 12/24/2004 Leo Childs Joins the IBEX Management Team IBEX is pleased to announce that Major General Leo Childs (U.S. Army, Ret.) has joined IBEX senior management. As Senior Vice President of US Government Solutions. Leo Childs served nearly 33 years in the United States Army. He was the 23rd chief of signal for the Army and last served as the J6 in charge of Command, Control and Communications for the US Pacific Command, retiring as a Major General. IBEX CEO Adam Kane said, "IBEX is excited to have Leo as a key part of our team. His experience will help IBEX in managing and growing our federal Government contracts base.
09/30/2004 Washington, DC-The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) awarded a contract to International Business Express for the GSA 8(a) STARS GWAC for Information Technology Services. IBEX will utilize this contracting vehicle to support IT services for Federal agencies. This contract is a commercial item acquisition and the result of a full and open competition. The GSA Small Business Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) Center is pleased to introduce its latest contract vehicle designed to promote small business utilization when purchasing technology solutions for the federal government. The new 8(a) Streamlined Technology Acquisition Resources for Services (STARS) GWAC is a small business set-aside contract for technology solutions. Announced last summer as 8(a) Federal Acquisition Services for Technology (FAST)2 Solicitation No. 6FG-03-RAV-0002 and recently renamed to 8(a) STARS, this new contract vehicle is the replacement contract for the current 8(a) FAST small business contract scheduled to expire October 31, 2004. 8(a) STARS is a multiple award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract vehicle.
